Impact

My ultimate goal is to make a positive material impact on the business. In order to maximize our impact, design must focus on 3 main areas; Vision, Strategy and Operations.

Vision As a cross-functional team, we must establish the product purpose, value proposition and shared aspirational goals that answer the needs of the business and the customer in order to describe a future state that provides a clear direction forward.

Strategy As a leader, we help shape how the vision will be brought to life and bring all the pieces together through a high-level plan that defines the path forward. Together we will set clear achievable goals that align to busines objectives around growth, revenue, and user engagement.

Operations In order to execute our strategy, we must systemize process for collaboration, team building, research, communication, prioritization, execution and validation to efficiently get all of the parts working together in a way that maximizes material impact.

Core Design Pillars

Although there are more pillars, below are my foundational must-haves for maintaining successful teams.

User-Centricity Understand user needs, discover pain points, conduct research, validate with users and leverage data to ensure products succeed.

Business Acumen Align design with business goals, user needs, and a deep knowledge of the problem space.

Collaboration Clearly articulate design decisions, foster communication and build cross-functional bridges.

Design Excellence Focus on the art of design. AI is super charging the importance of design systems and user expectations are only getting higher.

Research AI is creating short cuts to aquiring knowledge, but traditional research methods are still key to fostering a holistic understanding of user needs.

Team Building Empower, mentor, coach and guide individuals to drive professional growth. Learn who your team members are as people, where they are as designers, and build a plan to elevate their skills.
